My NW high-tech company is implementing Kaizen. I was hopeful! They then let the known abuser host the Kaizen, (spectacular abuse). Anyway, before it, he lured me in with lots of information requests about work processes. Great, he wants to improve the dept processes, I gave him diagrams, tutorials. Note before me, my job was a 1.5 person job, I have never missed a target, so I "know" I’m not a bad worker.
Well, the Kaizen turned out to be an ambush on me so that he could establish DOMINANCE and terrorize all the employees in the room. He kept repeatedly questioning me on how long it takes to get a data export to his people. This went on for 2 hours each time, 2 weeks in row, in front of 15 silent, terrorized people staring at me. I am a SUCKER. I kept calmly explaining, how you have to juggle a workload to get it all done.
Come to find out, he’s worked over other people including one with cancer & one with MS.
This has seriously affected how I see the company, especially as it’s providing refuge, aiding & abetting this abuser. Also, this has affected how I see the people in the room who were silent. I don’t really socialize with them anymore.

I’m familiar with similar approaches…generally done when bigwigs want to downsize their department to work ‘lean’
It’s a tough environment, this one you are in, and it sounds like this guy is too unfamiliar with what you have been doing – which is where the lean systems/theories have their downfall. When folks who do not know the process try to implement new things to be more efficient, things just become jumbled and operate less efficiently.
Consider it a way of poorly run business these days. Any chance your company is getting restructured? Can you move elsewhere w/in the company? If you can suck it up and deal with the gibberish, do so, otherwise, try and find something else.
